CIES compiled rankings of the highest-rated players born in 2006 or later who play outside Europe's established top five leagues, using metrics for aerial play, recovery, distribution, take-on distance, chance creation and finishing. The study produced a top-10 list of prospects who could become more recognisable by 2026. Highlighted players include a 19-year-old Netherlands Under-21 wing-back at Feyenoord noted for technical and physical ability, an 18-year-old Quenda closing on 50 Sporting appearances and due to join Chelsea, a versatile 19-year-old Yirenkyi capped by Ghana, and an 18-year-old Portuguese midfielder who impressed for Porto.
