Ten Hag hits out at Bayer Leverkusen after being sacked two games into new season
Briefly

Erik ten Hag described his dismissal from Bayer Leverkusen as unprecedented and said he was never given the time or trust to implement his vision. He signed a two-year deal to succeed Xabi Alonso but was relieved after three matches following a 4-0 DFB-Pokal win, a 2-1 league defeat to Hoffenheim and a 3-3 draw with Werder Bremen in which the team surrendered a two-goal lead. Leverkusen lost Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz to Liverpool and captain Granit Xhaka to Sunderland, creating a rebuilding task. Ten Hag previously left Manchester United in October 2024 despite cup successes and he thanked Leverkusen supporters while stating the relationship lacked mutual trust.

I feel this was never a relationship based on mutual trust. Clubs that placed their trust in me have been rewarded with success and silverware.
