Simeone usually sprints down the tunnel immediately, but on this occasion he remained on the field, hugging captain Koke, pulling Antoine Griezmann close and high-fiving his son Giuliano. The victory served as relief after three games without a win, leaving Atletico with only two points and in 17th place earlier that week. The win halted a worrying start to Simeone's 15th season and came in his 743rd game in charge since December 2011.
