"go to see the environment, see the project. Canada has done a great job of obviously tailoring to him and making sure that he feels valued."
"more than likely"
"wholehearted for the rest of my professional life."
Mexico international Marcelo Flores, born in Canada, is finalizing details to join Canada’s national-team training camp as an unofficial call-up for November friendlies. Flores, 22, made his senior Mexico debut in 2021 and has three appearances, with no senior minutes since 2022. A one-time FIFA switch would be required for an official change of national allegiance. There has been extensive communication between Flores and Canada’s federation, and the player is expected to arrive as a training player to assess the environment and project. Canada faces Ecuador on Nov. 13 in Toronto and Venezuela on Nov. 18 in Fort Lauderdale. Flores came through Arsenal’s academy, spent a loan at Real Oviedo in 2022, and joined Tigres in 2023; he previously stated he would represent El Tri wholeheartedly.
