Shocked fan's season ticket seat 'doesn't exist'
Briefly

Cathy Clarke, a lifelong Everton fan and 30-year season-ticket holder, arrived at the club's new Hill Dickinson stadium for the first home game and found a metal railing where her purchased seat should have been. She and her family had intentionally selected four adjoining seats using the virtual view so they could sit together and accommodate her knee. A steward confirmed the location issue, and the confusion caused Cathy and her husband to miss the team’s entrance and part of the match. Cathy believes the seat omission resulted from stair angle constraints and says a non-existent seat was nevertheless sold. Everton FC is liaising with her to find a resolution.
"At first I thought maybe it was on the other side of the stairs, but that was the start of a new block," said Cathy, who has had a season-ticket for 30 years.
"Then I realised that the seat just doesn't exist."
"We took time to pick the seats because we wanted to be the four of us together and have a seat at the end of a row because I've got a dodgy knee," she explained.
"But they should've known that - they've sold me a season ticket for a seat that doesn't exist!"
