Lamine Yamal underwent an invasive radiofrequency procedure to treat pubalgia and was subsequently removed from Spain's squad for World Cup qualifiers. The RFEF learned at 13:47 on November 10 that the procedure had been carried out that same morning and only received a report at 22:40 recommending 7–10 days of rest. Yamal had played the full 90 minutes for Barcelona in a 4-2 win over Celta Vigo on November 9 and had been expected to join qualifiers versus Georgia and Turkey. The RFEF cited player health and released him from the call-up.
