"I'm not a clown in a circus,"
"[The red card] hurts me, and I'm obliged to talk about it, because they'll say that I insulted the referee."
"I have a history in football. I have my history as a man."
"I congratulate Real Madrid on their victory, I'm not saying they benefited from it. But I'm against how bad the refereeing was. That's why I was sent off."
Sevilla lost 2-0 to Real Madrid at the Bernabéu, with Jude Bellingham scoring in the first half and Kylian Mbappé converting a late penalty. Sevilla coach Matias Almeyda was shown a second yellow and sent off at half-time after earlier being booked for protesting the referee on the touchline. Defender Marcão was sent off in the second half, and a Real Madrid penalty award was overturned by VAR. Almeyda publicly criticized referee Alejandro Muñiz, denied insulting the official, demanded release of audio of their exchange, and said witnesses could confirm his conduct. Xabi Alonso acknowledged Madrid's uneven form despite the win.
