Serious injuries rule multiple Bayern Munich youth players out for months
"Soon after the match, Bayern's official website revealed that forward Tim Binder and goalkeeper Leon Klanac, both regular starters in the U-23s team, had suffered serious injuries and would be out for "multiple months." Binder had already missed the U-23s' last three games with what was described as a knock, but clearly a different diagnosis lead to finding a much more serious problem. The website says that he is struggling with a foot injury."
"This is technically the "best" time (if there is such a thing) for the players to get injured. The U-23's winter break just started, with the youngsters' next game taking place on February 20, which will give the players over two months to heal without missing any games in the Regionalliga. But this is still very unfortunate. The players will have their holidays hampered by their injuries, will be forced to spend time doing rehab during vacation time and will miss out on the team's preparation for the season's restart."
Bayern Munich U-23s closed the year with a 3-0 win over SV Wacker Burghausen. Regular starters Tim Binder and Leon Klanac sustained serious injuries that will keep them out for multiple months. Binder had missed the last three U-23 matches with what was initially described as a knock and is now diagnosed with a foot injury. Klanac, who played a week earlier, is dealing with a thigh injury and missed the Burghausen match. The U-23 winter break gives them over two months to recover without missing Regionalliga fixtures, but they will lose holiday time, require rehab during vacation, and are expected to be unavailable at the season restart.
