Monterrey have opened talks to extend Sergio Ramos' contract, which expires at the end of the year. Ramos joined the Liga MX club in February and has scored two goals in 15 league appearances while captaining the side. Club president José Antonio Noriega confirmed negotiations are underway but declined to give details, citing focus on upcoming matches. Ramos, who will turn 40 in March 2026, expressed his desire to stay, praised Mexico and described Monterrey as having an interesting project. Monterrey prepare for an Apertura quarterfinal first leg against América on Nov. 26.
