Alexander Freeman, fullback for Orlando City SC and the USMNT, expressed his lifelong love for soccer over football, despite his father's NFL legacy. With a breakout season including recognition in the 'Team of the Matchday', Freeman made his debut for the national team and is set to play in the Gold Cup. He aims for the 2026 World Cup. His teammate Luca de la Torre, also seeking a spot in the World Cup, credits his MLS experience with San Diego FC for enhancing his game and maintaining his national team presence.

What's happening this year, I feel like it's an honor. I feel like it's a blessing.
I'm really happy to be there and it's given me the chance to get rhythm and to be called up to the national team.
I think at the moment that decision is too far away. I'm focused on every day and the next opportunity to train.
