"In June 2024, he signed a contract with Cologne, but spent the rest of the season on loan with Viktoria Köln. Back in the Bundesliga, the 19-year-old has made a big impression, scoring two goals and providing an assist in six appearances, with five of them coming from the bench. He is regarded as one of the most promising young talents in Germany, and it comes as no surprise that Bayern are keeping a close eye on him."
"Before exploring options elsewhere next summer, Bayern must make a major decision on Serge Gnabry, who has been enjoying a phenomenal campaign. The 30-year-old has scored three goals and provided four assists in all competitions so far, and Bayern need to decide whether they will offer him a new contract. Gnabry will become a free agent next summer, but he has suggested that he is 'extremely relaxed' with his contract situation at the club."
Bayern Munich prioritized strengthening their attack after the departures of Leroy Sané and Thomas Müller, signing Luis Díaz and making a strong start to the 2025-26 campaign. The club is monitoring 19-year-old Said El Mala, a Borussia Mönchengladbach academy product who signed for Cologne in June 2024 and spent the season on loan at Viktoria Köln. El Mala has scored two goals and provided an assist in six Bundesliga appearances, mostly from the bench, and is regarded as a top German prospect. Cologne hold his contract until 2030 and would demand around £30m (€35m). Bayern must also decide whether to offer Serge Gnabry a new contract before he becomes a free agent next summer.
