Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney co-own Wrexham AFC. Wrexham AFC were relegated from the Football League in 2008 and were taken over by supporters in 2011 to save the club. Rob McElhenney was inspired to invest after watching the Sunderland documentary 'Til I Die and pursued the purchase, prompted by an Instagram message from Reynolds praising It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Reynolds frequently engages fans about the club while out in public, which frustrates his three daughters and son when he stops to talk. Five years after the takeover, both owners still do not fully understand football, while Reynolds identifies as a committed Wrexham supporter.
