Romero set to be in Argentina during Spurs-Everton

Cristian Romero, Tottenham Hotspur’s captain, is expected to be in Argentina instead of playing the season finale against Everton because of a knee injury. A win would secure Premier League safety for Tottenham, while a draw could also be enough due to goal difference over West Ham United. West Ham are two points behind Tottenham and must beat Leeds United at home to keep survival hopes alive. Romero’s absence is not yet formally confirmed, but he posted images and was seen at the training ground of his boyhood club Belgrano. Belgrano officials reportedly allowed him to use the club’s facilities during recovery. Romero has also congratulated Belgrano after they qualified for their first Primera Division Apertura final against River Plate.

Romero recently posted a video of congratulations to Belgrano, who have qualified for their first Argentina Primera Division Apertura final. The final kicks off at 19:30 BST, with Spurs hosting Everton from 16:00."
