Jordi Altena, a 22-year-old right-back currently at RKC Waalwijk and formerly of Vitesse, will join Heart of Midlothian on 1 January, subject to Scottish FA approval and international clearance. He has agreed a contract that runs until the end of the 2028–29 season. Altena has made more than 50 senior appearances and may be available for the upcoming home match against Livingston. Heart of Midlothian lead the Scottish Premiership by three points, though Celtic have a game in hand away to Motherwell. The club considers the signing to strengthen specific areas and expects the player's style to excite supporters.
