Report: Bayern Munich top talent Moritz Gottlicher closes in on move to VfL Bochum
"VFL Bochum is working to sign Bayern talent Moritz Göttlicher. Talks between clubs are advanced, but not yet done. He would not cost a transfer fee in the summer [contract until June 2026]. Bochum wants him now and is offering a top perspective in the squad. Agreement on a contract until 2031 is already done. Göttlicher is big, athletic, technically proficient and one of the best talents in the current U-19 squad."
"Besides, his name directly translates to 'godlike' in English. It would be a massive shame to lose him. But Bayern already have two young midfielders in the senior squad in Aleksandar Pavlović and Tom Bischof while the likes of Javier Fernández, Noël Aséko Nkili and Felipe Chávez are ahead of him as young midfielders vying to make it into the first team. Clearly, Göttlicher does not have a great chance of breaking into Bayern's first team."
Moritz Göttlicher, 17, joined FC Bayern Campus at age seven and has progressed through every age group except the U-23s. VfL Bochum is working to sign him and talks between clubs are advanced; Bochum would pay no transfer fee in summer because his contract runs until June 2026, and a contract until 2031 with Bochum is already agreed. Göttlicher is big, athletic, technically proficient and one of the best U-19 talents, offering a fast pathway to senior football at Bochum. Bayern's midfield depth includes Aleksandar Pavlović, Tom Bischof, Javier Fernández, Noël Aséko Nkili and Felipe Chávez, limiting his first-team chances. Bochum offers immediate first-team competition, and Bayern would receive a transfer fee rather than mere compensation.
