Report: Bayern Munich eyeing Serbian midfield talent
"According to a report from Serbian outlet Telegraf (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is eyeing versatile 17-year-old midfielder Vasilije Kostov from Red Star Belgrade. Bayern have contacted Crvena zvezda and enquired about Vasilije Kostov (17/attacking/central midfielder). Kostov is considered one of the most promising talents in the country and is already a full Serbia international. Arsenal are also interested. Crvena zvezda are ready to listen to offers in the summer and want around €20m."
"Arsenal are reportedly up against Bayern Munich for the potential transfer of highly-rated Serbian wonderkid Vasilije Kostov, who has drawn comparisons with Barcelona's Pedri. The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has already made 26 first-team appearances for Red Star Belgrade and has won cap for Serbia's senior national team. There is a long way between now and the summer, though, and transfer targets can change quickly."
"The Bavarians could see a few roster changes in the summer, but adding a midfielder will likely depend on whether or not the Bavarians feel an internal candidate is ready to replace Leon Goretzka. Goretzka, a Germany international, is expected to leave the club when his contract expires in July.
