Report: Bayern Munich are already discussing new contract for Lennart Karl
"The likes of Real Madrid and Ajax had been linked with a move for the former Eintracht Frankfurt youth player and Karl was running down his contract. He had less than 12 months on his contract when, finally, he put pen to paper just before the 2025/26 season and pledged his short term future to Bayern."
"Now, the German champions could already be looking to reward him with a new contract. Fabrizio Romano, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, certainly suggests this could be the case: Bayern are very happy with Lennart Karl and, just a few months after he signed a new contract, they're already discussing the possibility of another new deal by changing its structure after his recent performances. Bayern are preparing the pathway for Karl for the future."
"Of course, it must be noted that a quick second contract extension was always likely for Karl. Given he was 17 when he signed his most recent deal at Bayern and therefore not legally a full grown adult, he could not sign for more than three years. His birthday is in February and, just like Jamal Musiala, it is likely he gets a new contract once he becomes 18-years-old that will keep him at Bayern for up to 5 years."
Lennart Karl attracted transfer interest from clubs including Real Madrid and Ajax while approaching the end of his contract. He signed a short-term deal with Bayern just before the 2025/26 season after having less than 12 months remaining. Bayern are pleased with his recent performances and are already preparing a restructured contract to secure his future at the club. A rapid extension was always likely because Karl was 17 when he signed and could not sign for more than three years. His February birthday will make him eligible to sign a longer deal, potentially up to five years, similar to Jamal Musiala.
