Report: Bayern Munich and 'practically all top clubs in Europe' competing to sign 16-year-old Kennet Eichhorn
"A teenager who regularly starts at a club is notable event. A 16-year-old who regularly starts for one of the teams vying to be promoted to the Bundesliga is something else. Ergo everybody looked over to Hertha Berlin as Kennet Eichhorn, a product of Hertha Berlin's illustrious academy, suddenly got integrated into the first and started gathering minutes as the 2025/26 season began. He impressed with his technique and decision making,"
"Bayern and practically all top clubs in Germany and in Europe are lining up to sign Hertha BSC's talented midfielder Kennet Eichhorn (16), who yesterday became the youngest goal scorer in the history of the DFB Pokal. Club scouts are watching him almost every game and have been impressed with his incredible physical and technical maturity for his young age."
Kennet Eichhorn, 16, was promoted from Hertha Berlin's academy into the first team at the start of the 2025/26 season and initially impressed with technique and decision making. Expectations predicted limited minutes and a gradual adaptation period. Eichhorn became a near-undroppable starter as Hertha won 10 of 12 matches after his full integration. He became the youngest goalscorer in DFB-Pokal history in a 6-1 win over Kaiserslautern. Scouts from Bayern and many top European and German clubs are tracking him. Hertha are considering a one-year contract extension with improved terms, a guaranteed starting role, leadership duties, and a raised release clause to about €20m. Eichhorn is 16 and turns 17 in July.
