"Real Madrid CF apologises to Elche CF and its player Andre da Silva for having mistakenly included his image in the obituary of an institutional video instead of that of Andre Silva, the brother of Diogo Jota, the Liverpool player,"
"We regret this incident."
"My mate Diogo, you are so missed but still so loved. Yours and Andre's memory will always live on. I smile every time I think about you and will always remember the great times we shared. Miss you mate, every day. Love Trent and family."
Real Madrid apologised to Elche CF and its player Andre da Silva after mistakenly including his image in an obituary video instead of Andre Silva, the brother of Diogo Jota. Diogo Jota and his brother died in a car crash in July; Jota was 28 and his brother, a professional with Penafiel, was 25. The photo used alongside Jota's image showed Elche and Portugal forward Andre da Silva, 30. Andre da Silva has represented Portugal 53 times and previously played for Porto, AC Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig. Elche are scheduled to face Real Madrid in La Liga on Sunday. Real Madrid representatives placed a wreath at Anfield in memory of Jota in November, and Trent Alexander-Arnold wrote a card expressing personal remembrance.
