Real Madrid respond after Tottenham Hotspur make Nico Paz enquiry - Soccer News
Briefly

Tottenham Hotspur is pursuing a potential deal for Nico Paz, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder currently with Como. Paz joined Como from Real Madrid, who retain buy-back options. Interested clubs, including Spurs, have inquired about Paz; however, Real Madrid has indicated intentions to keep him. While a loan deal was a theoretical possibility for Spurs, it is not appealing as it would limit chances for a permanent transfer should he excel. Last season, Paz was notable in Serie A, scoring six goals and assisting eight times in his appearances.
Spurs are one of several clubs, via various channels, that have asked about Nico Paz, but Real Madrid have stepped in to make it clear that his future is in the Spanish capital.
Paz starred for Como in Serie A last season and was one of the best young attacking players in the Italian top flight.
He scored six goals and gave eight assists in 30 starts and five substitute appearances in the league.
In theory, Spurs, or indeed other interested clubs, could have secured a loan-type deal as Como have, but that does not appeal given there would be little to no chance of a permanent deal if he performed well.
