Newcastle's green away kit faced criticism for a dull Tyne Bridge-inspired pattern and perceived Saudi connotations. Everton's Castore third combined home and away colours in wavy lines on black that many found uninspired. Brentford's third used an unusual brown, orange and light blue palette.
