Jarell Quansah moved from Liverpool to Bayer Leverkusen in July for more regular first-team football. He progressed through Liverpool's academy and made 58 senior appearances but started only four Premier League games last season. He was substituted at half-time in Arne Slot's first competitive match for "tactical reasons" and did not start another league fixture until December. Leverkusen paid £35 million for the 22-year-old centre-back. Quansah aims to play hundreds of games to reach his potential, is adapting to the Bundesliga, helped England win the European Under-21 Championship, and has been called up to senior England squads but remains uncapped.
