PSG matchwinner Chevalier: If it went to penalties, I knew Id save them - Soccer News
"I'm still being measured because it hasn't been easy for six months, even the match wasn't easy,"
"In the end, the team didn't give up and I knew that if it went to penalties, I was going to save them. I was too determined today to help the team and win this trophy. I'm happy, still being measured, but very happy for myself and PSG."
"They believed until the very end. They believed, but they didn't succeed,"
"In a month, we'll prepare for a better match than today and win comfortably."
Paris Saint-Germain retained the Trophee des Champions by beating Marseille 4-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in Kuwait. Marseille struck twice in an 11-minute spell to take the lead late in the match, while Goncalo Ramos and Mason Greenwood brought PSG level. Lucas Chevalier saved spot-kicks from Matt O'Riley and Hamad Traore to win the shoot-out. Chevalier has required time to settle since joining from Lille last summer and described his reaction as measured but determined. PSG have now won the trophy 14 times, including the last four editions, and Marquinhos expects improvement ahead of the February league meeting.
