Paul Pogba is set to return to competitive action for Monaco in their Ligue 1 trip to Rennes. He last played in September 2023 for Juventus against Empoli and made six league appearances in his second spell at Juventus. A provisional four-year ban followed a positive test for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) from an August 2023 sample; the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced the ban to 19 months. Pogba also recovered from an ankle injury that delayed his comeback. Monaco are sixth in Ligue 1, and manager Sebastien Pocognoli expects Pogba to bring experience, leadership, vision and technique while adapting to the competition's pace. Pogba recorded nine assists in his final Manchester United season and will make his French top-flight debut.
