Paul Pogba becomes co-owner of Saudi camel racing team
""I am incredibly excited to be joining forces with Al Haboob," Pogba said. "Throughout my career, I've been blessed with many opportunities and proposals, but this one felt different. It spoke to me on a deeper level -- to culture, to legacy, to storytelling. Joining Al Haboob felt like being invited into a new family, and saying yes was an easy decision.""
""I've always been someone who wants to try new things and do things differently -- whether it's how I play, how I express myself, or how I approach life off the pitch. Al Haboob represents exactly that: something fresh, something meaningful, and something exciting while staying true to who I am.""
Paul Pogba has invested in Saudi camel racing team Al Haboob and taken on roles as both ambassador and shareholder. Al Haboob bills itself as the world's professional camel racing team and organisers aim to establish the sport's first professional league. Camel racing in the Gulf uses robots as jockeys to ride the camels, with team officials reportedly driving beside races and remotely controlling whips. Al Haboob launched in 2021 alongside the RedSea Camel Company, and a 2024 Netflix series, Camel Quest, documented the team. Pogba recently returned to action for AS Monaco after a two-year doping ban.
