Reiss Nelson spent the previous season on loan at Fulham after struggling to secure regular playing time at Arsenal. Fulham reportedly could not agree a permanent transfer with Arsenal, leaving Nelson's future uncertain. Crystal Palace have entered talks with Nelson's advisors about a potential permanent move valued at around £15m. Arsenal possess several established wide options, including Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Noni Madueke and new signing Eberechi Eze, limiting Nelson's opportunities. Palace manager Oliver Glasner achieved FA Cup success and could provide an environment for Nelson to develop and find consistency in the Premier League.

However, things haven't quite worked out for Nelson and there are now many players ahead of him in the pecking order. Mikel Arteta has the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and new signings Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze to choose from out wide. With Eze just joining from Palace, it could make sense for these two clubs to do business together again.
