"Then they fell away, were relegated, bounced back up, and should have won last year's final against Clann na nGael, having taken a 2-5 to 1-1 half-time lead."
A group of Kilbride ladies footballers came out of retirement to field a team in honour of a late teammate and progressed to the Roscommon junior final. The weekend represented a remarkable moment for Roscommon LGFA. St Brigid's dominated between 2005 and 2014, winning eight of ten senior titles and securing an All-Ireland intermediate club title. The team later declined, suffered relegation, then bounced back. St Brigid's almost won last year's final against Clann na nGael after leading 2-5 to 1-1 at half-time but ultimately did not secure the title.
