Simone Magill has spent her life in football, beginning her professional career at Everton at 18 in 2013 and becoming Northern Ireland captain. She led Northern Ireland to their first major tournament in 2022, then moved to Aston Villa and later to Birmingham City. Magill briefly fell out of love with the game before moving to Villa but has since settled with the Blues. Magill and her husband Mark are expecting their first child in May, and she will step away from football for the next few months. She and Mark have received widespread love and support following the announcement.
