Nottingham Forest submit offer for Crystal Palace striker Mateta - Soccer News
"According to The Athletic, Nottingham Forest have stepped up their efforts to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta. Aiming to get ahead of the competition for the signature of the France international, they've officially offered £35million for Crystal Palace to relinquish the services of their striker."
"That amount, however, won't be enough to get a deal done. Palace are holding out for every bit of their valuation of £40million for Mateta, and even if their price is met, they will still need to identify and secure a suitable replacement before sanctioning the sale."
"Mateta has 18 months left on his Crystal Palace contract and he's reportedly informed the club that he will not be signing a new one; a sore blow for the Eagles after the departure of captain Marc Guehi and the announcement that manager Oliver Glasner will be leaving at the end of the season too."
"Recent reports have suggested that Mateta is also a target for Juventus. The Serie A giants need to replace Dusan Vlahovic, who is also set for a change of club at the end of the season."
