
Martin O'Neill does not expect discussions about his future at Celtic before the Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline Athletic. He returned to manage Celtic twice this season after Brendan Rodgers and Wilfried Nancy left. On his second return in January, Celtic trailed Hearts by six points, but Hearts led by one point going into the match in Glasgow. Celtic scored two late goals to win 1-1 and secure another Premiership title-winning moment for O'Neill. He says he would not have the energy to discuss his future at this moment. He credits rejuvenation to working with young coaches and seeing young players daily. He says he does not think Celtic should offer him, but believes he has merited the role. Major shareholder Dermot Desmond asked him back twice and O'Neill spent a couple of minutes with him after the win.
