New Liverpool signing Jacquet sustains serious injury - Soccer News
"We have reached an agreement for the transfer of Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais, with the defender set to join the club ahead of the 2026-27 season, subject to a work permit and international clearance"
"For Jeremy, it's his shoulder."
"We'll have time to see, but it's definitely quite serious."
"Jacquet has featured 19 times in Ligue 1 this season, and Liverpool fought off competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea to sign the France youth international."
Jeremy Jacquet signed for Liverpool on Monday in a reported £60m (€69.5m) deal to join ahead of the 2026-27 season, subject to a work permit and international clearance. The 20-year-old France youth international suffered a serious shoulder injury after falling awkwardly in Rennes' 3-1 defeat to Ligue 1 leaders Lens. Rennes coach Habib Beye said the injury appears quite serious and that the club will have time to assess it. Jacquet has made 19 Ligue 1 appearances this season. Liverpool beat competition from Chelsea to secure the transfer, and the injury may force a lengthy absence.
