Musiala takes 'very big step' in broken leg recovery
"It was great for me to be back on the pitch. It felt fantastic. My foot felt good."
"My first jump a few weeks ago, then my first run on the Alter-G (treadmill), now on the pitch. I think you take a new step forward every week."
"It's always step by step, you don't want to do anything too quickly,"
"When I come back, I want to be at 100 percent, at a good level. That's why we're taking our time."
Jamal Musiala trained on grass for the first time in over three months while recovering from a fractured fibula and a dislocated ankle. The injuries occurred during Bayern's Club World Cup quarterfinal against Paris Saint-Germain in July. He made a tentative return to outdoor sessions at the club's performance centre, completing light running and coordination work with fitness coach Simon Martinello. Prior stages of rehabilitation included an initial jump and treadmill running on the Alter-G before progressing to the pitch. There is no set timeline for a full comeback and he aims to return only when fully fit and at 100 percent. Bayern have won their first 12 games this season, leading the Bundesliga and topping their Champions League group despite his absence.
