Fans chanted his name multiple times, with both the Matthew Harding Stand and the Shed serenading him during the second half. He waved sheepishly while keeping his focus on the pitch and expressed a greater desperation to succeed because of his reputation. The packed media conference room included familiar faces such as Brian Pullman, who retired after 56 years in 2024 and revealed custard creams for Mourinho. Mourinho also spent time speaking with Thresa Conneely and former player Joe Cole, greeting them warmly before kickoff.
