NWSL formed a celebrity advisory board made up of existing club investors, including Alex Morgan, Sue Bird, Eli Manning, Elizabeth Banks, Lindsey Vonn, and Magic Johnson. Each of the 16 teams can be represented by up to two delegates, and the group will be led by commissioner Jessica Berman. The board will convene biannually beginning next year to identify opportunities for growth, storytelling, and innovation. The advisory body is intended to work alongside existing ownership and leadership to fuel collaboration, while the Board of Governors retains control over major league decisions.
