"I get that there are certain ways you can go about things. But if a lad's fine to just be on the bench and he doesn't want to play and help the team, then I think that's more of an issue. Mohamed Salah apologised to his Liverpool teammates after a frustrated mixed-zone interview that led to him being dropped from Arne Slot's squad. Curtis Jones described Salah's apology and said Salah told teammates, 'If I've affected anybody...' and showed a positive, smiling demeanour. Jones framed the reaction as part of a drive to win and said any anger from players comes from a good place. Slot has moved past the incident. Salah travelled to the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt and is unavailable for the upcoming trip to Tottenham. The squad is reported to be gelling and returning to winning form.
