Millie Bright has retired from international football at age 32 after earning 88 caps since her 2016 debut. She was central to England's Euro 2022 victory and captained the side to the 2023 World Cup final. Bright withdrew from this summer's Euro defence after knee surgery and said she could not give 100% mentally or physically. She said stepping away allowed time to reflect, fix her knee, and regain balance, and called retirement the best decision she has made. Bright cited changing priorities, craving family and personal time, and expressed pride in her international memories and service.
