Marcelino Nunez has signed for Ipswich Town from Norwich City for a reported £10m and agreed a four-year contract. The Chile international spent three years at Carrow Road, making 119 appearances, his last in a 2-1 win at Portsmouth on 16 August when he left with an ankle injury. Nunez scored the winning goal for Norwich in the April 2024 derby. He is the first player to move between the rivals since goalkeeper Andy Marshall in 2001. Ipswich may deploy him as the midfield fulcrum after Sam Morsy, who led them to back-to-back promotions in 2023 and 2024, left for Kuwait SC. The teams meet at Portman Road on 5 October.
