Martindale has Livingston owner's 'full support'
"During our first call, I could tell that his passion and loyalty for Livingston FC was beyond the scope of anything I had ever seen before in sport. Despite the incredible challenges we have faced this season thus far, Davie's attitude, and the demeanour of his staff, have remained both positive and optimistic. Davie is a leader, and will continue to be the leader of this football club. He, and his staff, have my full support."
"There is no excuse for our poor record, and I want to recognise the anger, frustration, and disappointment that our play has created for our incredible fanbase, our dedicated staff, and amazing volunteers. You deserve better, and that falls on my shoulders first. I did not come into this club to hire and fire managers. I have seen the toxicity and chaos that can bring to a team and to the community."
Livingston sit bottom of the Scottish Premiership with nine points from 20 matches and a single league win nearly five months ago, a 3-1 home victory over Falkirk. The team has lost their last four games but pushed leaders Hearts closely in the most recent fixture. David Martindale has managed Livingston since December 2020, having previously held other roles at the club. Calvin Ford became majority shareholder and chairman in May 2025 and praises Martindale's passion, loyalty and leadership while offering full support. Ford acknowledges poor results, recognises fan anger, and prefers continuity over managerial turnover to rebuild.
