Russell Martin called for patience from Rangers' supporters after the team drew 1-1 with Dundee, marking their second consecutive draw. The match followed a lackluster opening game for Martin against Motherwell. After a midweek Champions League victory against Viktoria Plzen, Rangers faced disappointment when Dundee scored first and then had a player sent off. A late penalty by James Tavernier salvaged a point, but the team was met with jeers at full-time. Despite concerns over falling behind rivals Celtic, Martin emphasized the importance of supporter patience and the potential for team growth over the season.
Supporters are the most important people at every football club. So they have every right. But it's a really long season. This team will grow.
But we have to play with that mentality all the time. I'm really pleased we didn't get beaten. I know that sounds negative, but going down to 10 men so early in the game, then having a willingness to drive and try and win the game, I enjoyed that side.
