Maresca 'hasn't seen Sterling or Disasi'
"Image source, Getty Images Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says he hasn't seen either Raheem Sterling or Axel Disasi since the season began and they will remain in the "bomb squad". The Italian confirmed the pair will continue to use a different pitch, gym and dressing room from the rest of the first-team squad indefinitely. Neither forward Sterling nor French defender Disasi was able to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window."
"They are Chelsea players, but at the moment they are training separately and the plan is to continue in this way. "Since the season started, I haven't seen either of them. I haven't seen Axel or Raheem. They train at a different time and on a different pitch. I haven't seen them since the start of the season." Sterling, 30, was reluctant to join either Champions League sides Juventus or Bayer Leverkusen this summer."
Enzo Maresca confirms Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi have trained separately from Chelsea's first-team since the season began and will remain segregated indefinitely, using a different pitch, gym and dressing room. Neither player secured transfers before the window closed: Sterling rejected moves to Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen while seeking a London club and remaining on high wages, and Disasi turned down offers while holding out for a Monaco return. Disasi stated he is fit and available if called upon. Sterling, Disasi and David Datro Fofana were registered in Chelsea's Premier League squad. Maresca also ruled out Romeo Lavia and Benoit Badiashile, who remain sidelined alongside long-term injuries including Liam Delap.
