He featured in Manchester United’s Carabao Cup exit to League Two side Grimsby Town, conceded in normal time and was eliminated on penalties. Cameroon finished second in their CAF qualifying group, four points behind Cape Verde. Cape Verde qualified with a 3-0 win over Eswatini while Cameroon drew with Angola. Cameroon must now contest CAF play-offs among the four best second-place teams, with semi-finals and a final deciding the CAF representative. Success there leads to an inter-confederation tournament in Mexico in March 2026 where two of six teams will qualify.
