"Akanji is enjoying a successful loan spell at San Siro so far, helping Inter to the top of the Italian league table and a one hundred percent winning record in the Champions League. He has meanwhile spent the international break helping Switzerland claim their place at next year's World Cup, with a 1-1 draw with Kosovo on Tuesday confirming their automatic qualification for the summer tournament."
"Asked by Tutto Mercato Web if he sees himself at Inter longer term, Akanji replied: "I hope so. The best features, fun and footballing quizzes, straight to your inbox every week. "We'll see what happens this season, then we'll decide what to do with the club. I don't know, it depends on how the season goes, but right now I'm very happy in Milan.""
Manuel Akanji joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and made 136 appearances, last featuring at the Club World Cup. He was loaned to Inter this summer after falling surplus to requirements at City. At Inter he has helped the club reach the top of Serie A and maintain a perfect Champions League group record. He also helped Switzerland secure World Cup qualification with a 1-1 draw against Kosovo. Akanji says he would like to extend his stay in Milan depending on how the season unfolds. The loan reportedly includes a €15m option to buy that becomes obligatory if conditions are met.
