Liverpool signing Jeremy Jacquet suffers 'serious' injury
"For Jeremy, it's his shoulder, and for Abdelhamid [Ait Boudlal, the other Rennes player injured] it's muscular,"
"We'll have time to see, but it's definitely quite serious for both of them."
"He's a very big talent and maybe even more than a talent, but we speak about talent because of his age. " We weren't the only one interested in him. It's another big compliment to the people working really hard to sign players because we were able to sign such a big talent."
Jérémy Jacquet sustained a serious shoulder injury after falling awkwardly in the second half of Rennes' 3-1 defeat to Lens, leaving the pitch in visible agony. Rennes also reported a muscular injury to Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal from the same match. Head coach Habib Beye described both injuries as quite serious and said further assessment will be needed. Liverpool completed a five-year signing of the 20-year-old France under-21 centre-back on July 1 for £55 million plus £5 million in add-ons, with the option of a further 12 months. Liverpool head coach Arne Slot praised Jacquet as a very big talent and welcomed the capture amid competition from Chelsea.
