Lionesses 'putting hands in pockets' for families
Briefly

Midfielder Georgia Stanway revealed that England players are financially aiding their families to cover expenses for the Euro 2025 tournament in Switzerland, known for its high cost of living. All 23 players will receive financial support from the Football Association for travel and accommodation, comparable to what men's players receive. Additionally, players face challenges due to soaring costs, prompting them to personally fund more for their loved ones in order to ensure they can attend and support them during the tournament.
Even just for flights and hotels. The cost of living there is extremely high so we understand the demand on fans. That is difficult for us as well because we want to help and support as much as possible, even with our own families.
A lot of us are putting our hands in our pockets to make sure that our families can get over there.
We would love to see as many fans as possible and we want to thank them in advance because we know it's not cheap.
Switzerland ranks second on the Cost of Living Index for 2025, behind the US Virgin Islands.
