Bayer Leverkusen defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 to claim their first league victory under Kasper Hjulmand. Alex Grimaldo opened the scoring with a curled free kick and Patrik Schick converted a penalty to put Leverkusen 2-0 up at half-time. Can Uzun reduced the deficit early in the second half, but Grimaldo scored a second free-kick deep in stoppage time to restore the two-goal cushion. Leverkusen finished with nine players after Robert Andrich and Ezequiel Fernandez were both sent off for second yellow cards. The win followed Hjulmand's appointment after Erik ten Hag's dismissal.
