Leicester appoint Rowett until end of the season - Soccer News
"I'm really proud to be the new Leicester City manager and to have the opportunity to work with and lead a really talented group over the coming months,"
"It's very clear to us all what needs to be achieved between now and the end of the season and the work begins immediately."
"I'm looking forward to building connections with the players, with the staff at the club and with all of fans - all of which will be vital to helping us secure the results we need."
Leicester City have appointed Gary Rowett as manager until the end of the 2025-26 season following the January sacking of Marti Cifuentes. The club sits 22nd in the Championship and entered the relegation zone after a six-point deduction for a financial rules breach, which the club has appealed. Rowett has extensive second-tier experience, having managed 417 Championship games with 157 wins, 135 draws and 125 losses, averaging 1.45 points per game. The 51-year-old most recently left Oxford United in December, made 49 playing appearances for Leicester, and will face Stoke City in his first match.
