The club sent $50,000 in 2026 general allocation money to the San Jose Earthquakes to obtain Eustáquio's discovery rights. Eustáquio joined Porto in 2022 and featured in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and the FIFA Club World Cup. The 29-year-old has had reduced playing time this season and will aim to regain match sharpness ahead of Canada's co-hosted World Cup. Eustáquio represented Portugal at under-21 level and has 54 caps and four goals for Canada.
