"Welcome to the first-ever ESPN Players of the Month! We're kicking off our inaugural edition by having several of our experts vote for the standout performer in each of Europe's top five leagues every month: Premier League, Bundesliga, LaLiga, Serie A, and Ligue 1. How does it work? It's quite simple: Three ESPN journalists from different countries participate for each league and then, every month, each expert chooses their top three players from that league."
"Bayern Munich have not lost a match in any competition since their 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinals on July 5. That's an incredible 18 consecutive wins -- three preseason friendlies and 15 official matches in the German Supercup, German Cup, Bundesliga, and UEFA Champions League -- and the main man in this remarkable run has been Harry Kane."
ESPN launched an inaugural Players of the Month across Europe's top five leagues with three journalists per league voting monthly. Each expert selects a top three, awarding 10, 5 and 3 points; ties are broken by number of first-place votes. In the Bundesliga, Bayern's forward Harry Kane (32) earned 25 points. Bayern have gone 18 matches unbeaten since a July 5 defeat to PSG, spanning friendlies and official competitions. Kane has 22 goals and three assists in 15 matches. Last month Kane scored twice in three Bundesliga games as Bayern topped the table with 24 points.
