Jose Mourinho rejects 'soap opera' links to Real Madrid vacancy
"Don't count on me for soap operas. There are many good soap operas, but they take too long. Then you miss an episode or two and you lose track. Don't count on me, I don't watch soap operas."
"soap opera"
José Mourinho rejected speculation about a possible return to Real Madrid, calling such rumours "soap operas" and saying he does not watch them. Real Madrid parted company with Xabi Alonso after less than eight months and appointed Álvaro Arbeloa as his replacement. Mourinho, 62, managed Real Madrid from 2010–13 and won LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Supercup. Mourinho took charge at Benfica in September and holds a contract through June 2027. Benfica sit third in the Primeira Liga, ten points behind FC Porto, and will face Juventus in the Champions League before hosting Real Madrid on Jan. 28.
