Jonathan Tah backs Lennart Karl to land World Cup place for Germany - Soccer News
""If he continues this way, I don't know what's stopping him from helping our [national] team,""
""If he can do it at Bayern Munich, in the Champions League, then he has everything it takes to show it for the national team.""
""For me, it makes absolutely no sense to participate in a tournament and say only 'we want to reach the quarter-finals,""
Jonathan Tah believes Lennart Karl deserves consideration for Germany's senior squad based on his breakout form for Bayern Munich. Karl has scored six goals across 17 Bundesliga and Champions League appearances and became the youngest player to score in three consecutive Champions League appearances at 17 years and 290 days. Julian Nagelsmann has kept Karl with the Under-21s and not yet promoted him to the senior side. Tah says Karl can already make an international impact if selected. Germany qualified for the 2026 World Cup and will face Curaçao, Ivory Coast and Ecuador in the group, and Tah demands higher ambitions than merely reaching the quarter-finals.
